Wispr Flow pricing in 2026: what it costs, what is free, and what has changed

Wispr Flow Pro costs $15 per user per month, or $12 per user per month when billed annually, which comes to $144 a year. The free plan gives you 2,000 words a week on Mac or Windows, 1,000 words a week on iPhone, and unlimited words on Android. A Growth plan for teams starts at $23 per user per month, or $18 billed annually. Students and educators get 50% off Pro. Every figure on this page was checked against Wispr's pricing page and help center on September 2, 2026.

That is the short answer. Below: what the pricing page leaves out, how the price has moved since 2025, and whether Pro is worth it. Rubil's own pricing is at the end, in one section, for anyone comparing.

Five details change what you will pay or get.

The free tier has a second ceiling. The pricing page prints 2,000 words a week for desktop. Wispr's plans article calls that a soft cap and adds a hard cap of 5,000 a week on desktop, with 1,000 soft and 1,500 hard on iPhone. The real free allowance on desktop is somewhere between the two, and Wispr does not publish how the gap is handled.

The 14-day trial is no longer a given. The pricing page still promises 14 days of Pro. A help-center FAQ updated in late August 2026 says most new solo desktop signups now start on the free tier instead; referred, student, promo, and team signups keep the trial. Sign up cold on desktop and plan on the free tier from day one.

Refunds are not part of the deal. Wispr's terms of service, updated August 19, 2026, say refunds are issued only where the law requires it. You can cancel anytime in the desktop app, and the subscription renews until you do. Wispr may change the price at renewal, with notice and a chance to cancel first.

Prices are localized. Checkout shows your billing country's currency, set per country rather than converted from the US price, and existing subscribers keep their original price (per Wispr's help center, August 2026). The US page shows dollars only.

Discounts go beyond students. Educators, non-profits, people with accessibility needs, military, and seniors can apply. Only the student number is printed: 50% off Pro, and not on team or enterprise plans.

How Wispr Flow's price has changed

We read all 81 archived copies of wisprflow.ai/pricing in the Wayback Machine, from March 12, 2025 to August 28, 2026. The Pro price has not moved once. Everything around it has.

One caution: some third-party pages cite an older $19 a month price. It appears in no archived capture since March 2025, and the archive holds nothing earlier, so we can neither confirm nor date it.

Is Wispr Flow worth it?

At $144 a year, Pro is priced in line with the other funded tools in the category; Willow Voice's Pro is also $15 a month. The price is defensible if you use what Pro is charging for.

Wispr Flow is the better choice when:

• You write on iPhone or Android today. Rubil has no mobile app in the stores yet. Wispr's are live, and Android is free and unlimited right now.
• You want unlimited words from the first day and would rather never think about a cap.
• Your team needs single sign-on, HIPAA enforcement, or audit logs. Growth is priced for that.
• You want the tool to rewrite and edit for you. Wispr's Pro tier is built around AI models that produce a different version of what you said. If that is the product you want, Rubil is the wrong tool, on purpose.
• You use the Notetaker. It comes with the free plan.

Where the price stops making sense: if you dictate under 2,000 words a week on desktop, the free tier already covers your words, and Pro would be paying for advanced model access, longer meeting retention, and support, not for dictation.

One more comparison people ask about: Wispr Flow has no lifetime plan. Superwhisper sells one at $249.99, with Pro at $8.49 a month and a 30-day refund on every plan (verified on superwhisper.com, September 2026). Against Wispr Pro, that licence pays for itself in about 17 months monthly or 21 annual. What you give up is a funded team shipping every month, which is what a subscription pays for.

What Rubil costs

One section, as promised. Rubil is voice dictation for the app you are writing in: a Chrome extension, a Mac app, and a Windows app that format your words for Gmail, Slack, Notion, Jira and the rest. Keyboards for iPhone and Android are in development and not in the stores yet; you can join the list for iOS or Android and get one email when they ship. Rubil formats your words. It never rewrites or generates them. How often the output needs an edit before sending is measured every day and published on the quality page.

• Free: a 7-day full-Pro trial, unlimited, starting on your first dictation, no card. Then 1,000 words per rolling 7 days, on the same engine Pro uses.
• Pro: $5 a month.
• Pro annual: $39 a year at the founding price, locked for as long as the subscription stays active, with a 30-day refund.

Against the numbers above: Wispr's free tier gives roughly twice the words on desktop. Rubil's paid tier is a third of the price, $5 against $15 a month and $39 against $144 a year. Privacy

Price is one line item. What happens to your speech is the other.

Rubil processes audio transiently through Groq and discards it immediately. The transcript goes to OpenAI for formatting and is not stored on Rubil's servers. Your Glossary is encrypted locally and in the cloud. No voice files, no transcript history, and no recordings are kept. Rubil does not watch your screen or take screenshots; it detects the app you are in from the URL in Chrome or the app's bundle ID on Mac and Windows, without reading your content. Every data processor is named on the privacy page.

Wispr Flow sends your inputs to its servers for transcription and does not use them for training unless you opt in, and its plans have listed a zero-data-retention Privacy Mode on the free tier as well as paid ones since 2025. Its context-aware features use text from your screen to shape the output, a different design from Rubil's URL-and-bundle-ID detection. HIPAA enforcement with a signed BAA is part of the Growth and Enterprise price. Read their privacy page before deciding; all of this is current as of September 2, 2026.
